Your Library Card

Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.

Those eligible for a free library card are:

    • Rockwell City residents
    • Residents of other Iowa towns with public libraries that participate in Open Access.

Children are eligible for their own library cards when they reach the age of 5 years.

Children/Youth (under the age of 16) receive library cards when registered in person by a parent or legal guardian.  The parent or legal guardian assumes responsibility for all charges incurred through use of their child's card, as well as the content of material the child checks out.

All individuals applying for a card must complete a registration form, show acceptable form of photo identification, and provide proof of residence.
